The Increase in Prisoner Rights Statute would, if passed, accomplish the following:

1. Make overnight family visits a “Right” for ALL Prisoners.
2. Make regular contact/non-contact visits a “Right” for all prisoners.
3. Require the CDC & R to provide prisoners with a minimum of 56 hours of visiting.
4. Require that prisoners receive a minimum of four (4) telephone calls monthly.
5. Require access to a hobby, handicraft, or music program for all prisoners.
6. Give prisoners the right to correspond and or meet confidentially with the news media.
7. Give prisoners a right to a minimum of 25 hours of outdoor exercise per week.
8. Make the receipt of quarterly packages from friends/family a right.
